Support Forum
Hello!
After I recently updated to the latest version of SP most of the members of the site/forum can no longer post/view the forum because they appear to no longer be in the "Members" group.
I've tried the "Map users to usergroup" function but it just times out for me. I can see in phpmyadmin in the "wp_sfmemberships" table that it runs for a while and process users (around 800-900 users) before it stops. Leaving no error in the error log of the forum.
I have quite a lot of members 177k, so I don't know if it has anything to do with that the reason that the mapping of users times out.
Also in "Manage user groups" I cannot view the "Show/problem-with-post-edit-buttonide users without memberships", if I press that button it locks up the mysql server and I have to restart it.
Site runs on a dedicated server with 32gb RAM.
I'm grateful for any help so I can get my members back to posting!
5.3 to 5.3.1? The updates to the database in that sequence were very, very restricted - certainly nothing to do with user groups and memberships took place.
Still curious however - exactly what is the php memory allocation? What is reported on the forum admin > toolbox > environment panel?

I'm experiencing something along the same lines. I'll start another thread but thought it might throw a bit of light on this issue if I replied here as well.
I've had two users so far that start out in the Members Group and some time later they also appear in No Membership on the frontend Members listing. Backend looks fine. Just happens all by itself. I've looked into the tables and see the phantom user and, from driving around in the settings, it appears that editing the database is the only way to clear the ghost. Probably have some conflicting setting somewhere but nothing jumps out.
BE Johnson, so you saw this too only after upgrading to 5.3. like OP??
Isickard, is this standard wp or multisite? any mermbeship plugin?
can you compare the rows in the wp users table to the rows in the sfmembers table?

well the three of those wouldnt necessarily match up... the sfmembers and wp users should match... not sure why the slight discrepancy there... though the sf membership count certainly indicates you have a lot of users with a membership... what info cause you to say members didnt have any memberships?
no clue what capa protect is or does...
not sure how they would have moved out of any usergroup in last update... there was no change at all in that area of code and certainly no action to move users around... are you using forum ranks? and auto assigning membership based on post count?

When I click the "show/problem-with-post-edit-buttonide members" of the usergroup "members" it lists 31474 users.

Yes I'm using forum ranks and auto assigning membership, but it's set to the "Members" group for all ranks.
