lol. answered many times. keep meaning to add to the faq, but never seem to find the time…

for subscriptions, you get an email when a new post is added to a subscribed topic…

for watches, you are simply adding a watch to a topic because you want to keep an eye (or a watch) on it… there is not notification (other than the status box on the page) for updates… its a way of flagging a topic that you want to come back to at a later time so you dont forget…

IMHO, that would be better if we use the term Bookmarks instead of Watches So, the Bookmarked Topics is more make sense than the Watched Topics since many other forums are still using “watches” that refererring to the “subscriptions”. Therefore, people sometimes get confused between “subscriptions” and “watches”. Just my two cents. wink

Masino…

That’s the beauty of the new SPv5 api… you can control the wording via your theme and or plugins wink

Your logic makes sense, but as any software, it would be difficult to make a perfect fit for everyone. But at least you’ve got the control now.
