Support Forum
Hi guys,
I got following error in the WP admin (update section) last days. My webhost moved my domain to a new and faster server and it started to occured then. My webhosted are not able to find why this is happening.
Maybe you have a clue that can point us in the right direction?
Your server has returned a status code of while attempting to communicate with the Simple:Press server to establish up to date version information.
Additionally, WordPress reported the following: Resolving timed out after 5515 milliseconds
Please try again in a few minutes but if the condition persists we firstly recommend seeking assistance from your hosting support team and then contacting Simple:Press support if they are unable to help.
When you open the WP update or plugin list page, WP had to discover if any updates are available for downloading. When it comes to SP it 'calls' our server to download an XML file with update details. If that call fails, for any reason, we display that notice as information. In this case it looks like the call timed out so perhaps our server was busy. It will try again again at the next update page load.
Looking at it I have to say the message is a little misleading.... I will rewrite it to make it more obvious.

FYI: I saw this same notice for the first time, just the other day, likely around the same time as @meztli-2 ... haven't seen it since.
@yellow-swordfish Thanks for the explanation, I feared it was something on our end timing out.

could just be period maintenance on the server as well.. but yes, just retries.. we have tried to clean up the message for the next version...
