Support Forum
Hey everyone!
Our forum has been working great so far, and we love it!
However, we've just run into our first issue. I did some quick searching here and didn't find anyone with my same problem... We use the user groups to separate the forum visibility to different students based on term (Winter 2016, Fall 2016, etc). We have one group of users who cannot see the "upload" button on their Edit Avatar page. (See first attachment)
Our Winter 2016 User Group, with all of the same permissions and access rights, sees the upload options just fine.
Has anyone else seen this, or is there a setting I may be missing? I have updated the simple:press plugin to the most recent version (5.7) and made sure that our storage locations are not giving any errors..
Thank you all!
you are not actually showing us any permissions... remember, you have to apply a usergroup and permission set to a forum in order for it to apply... and both sets must have the upload permission enabled...
with a user who cannot see the button, go to their profile and check their permissions... can they upload avatars?
fyi, a permissions primer: https://simple-press.com/docum.....ng-access/

This was the issue, as it turns out! I thought I had already applied the group to the Forum, but I double checked that just now and the group was missing entirely. I added them and gave them Full Access, where the permission is enabled to upload the avatar. It is working for the next group now!
Thank you so much for your help! Sometimes it's the dumb, little things that get missed. 🙂
