Do you mean the original bbPress posts? If so I am not sure of the recommended way top do it. Does bbPress not come with some sort of uninsttall option? Perhaps more a question for the bbPress team...
I uninstalled it, not sure why it would still be conflicting, looks like it's not as big as a issue as I thought, I thought it would conflict with the url redirects from our old forum, it seems to be working fine even with the number at the end, thank-you for your help gentleman
Well the whole point of adding the number is to make the slug unique. I know bbPress creates all of their topics/posts in the WP posts table so it is reasonable that f this is on the same site then there will be url duplicates being created.
There must be a way of removing al of the old topic and post data and I would have hoped that was built into bbPress but, as I say, I just don't know. I have never used it!

Hmm plugin import leads me to standalone import too...is this intended?"Tags" is installed.
I don´t even know what to enter at "bbpress table suffix"
look at your database tables through myphpadmin, some reason I named my database rufus when I created it 2 years ago, so my bbpress database was rufus_forum_ and such, so just put what ever the beginning part is, for me it is rufus_ the part I messed up was my users, I thought the correct one to use would have been wp_users, so I was using wp_ which kept only importing me and no one else, once I changed it to rufus_ everyone got imported, one thing I had to do was one of my forums was showing 0 categories and posts so I went through the simple press toolbox and clicked on housekeeping, I reindexed all the forums and everything came out fine after that
if this is your first time converting, let me tell you, this conversion was much easier than converting into bbpress
good luck

hmm okay. But I created the forums some weeks ago and really dont know, what I should put into the "bbpress prefix" field. I guess it should be "wp_" as well for the bbpress forum posts are stored in wp_post I think? Is that so? And why does the "plugin" option dont work?
is this a original fresh install of bbpress? I think their tables should be wp_bb, I would double check to make sure, not sure on the plugin, but our conversion went fine even though it said the stand alone
Yes - I am afraid the label was wrong and said stand alone when it isn't. If you chose plugin from the main importer menu then you are running the right one.
If your bbPress is in your current WP site then the prefix should be the same as the prefix for all of the WP tables and that is set in your wp-config.sys file and was set when you first installerd WP.
