WordPress 3.4.1, Forum 5.2 Build: 9495

My client reports, "For some reason I can't add a new topic to the forum, the "Add Topic" button shows javascript:void (null) when I mouse over it and doesn't do anything when I try and click on it."

As noted in the topic name, I updated the themes and plugins to the latest version this morning. What should I do to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Odd one, The site is throwing script errors that seem to start with the SP Font resize plugin but I can see no evidence that any SP plugin scripts are being loaded. Which is sort of weird...

In the forum admin under Options > Global Settings what do you have set for the two 'CSS/JS Combined Caching' options? If they are turned on - and not working - Can you turn them off?

I don't see either one of the two 'CSS/JS Combined Caching' options under "Options > Global Settings".

PS: I now remember that when the Tiny MCE Editor was updating it threw off a php error message but after that the Forum Admin loaded OK. I have now deactivated the Tiny MCE Editor.

PPS: Sorry for the delay in responding. I was called away from the computer.

Can you double check this really IS SP 5.2? Those options are new for 5.2 and should be on the panel on the right hand side below the RSS Feeds section.

If this is NOT 5.2 then the updated TinyMCE wont work with it anyway as it is dependent upon 5.2

I just discovered that I copied the wrong version information when I first posted about the problem. I have not updated to 5.2 but am using version 5.1.3.

This is so embarrassing! I'm sorry that I got that important fact wrong. Would upgrading help fix the problem?

well certainly the latest tinyMCE plugin does require SP5.2 so I would hope that would be the case...

I was having trouble with backing up the database before updating and I solved that problem and updated the forum to 5.2. It seems to be working now. Thanks for your help and patience.

One last thing. My client reports, "One thing I just noticed is we are now able to host pics/attachments through the "Upload Attachments" button which is great, but the old toolbar with the web link, html code, image, video, etc icons is missing."

How do restore the functions of the "old toolbar" that he is asking about?

Well attachments have been around for quite a long time but I assume you are referring to the tinymce toolbar so perhaps that didn't install properly...
