Hello,

We are trying to restore access to Simple:Press and several areas of our site are impacted by this per our host. VERY clueless on coding,etc...no developer.  Our host restored us to an April, 2016 backup. Getting this message and having trouble reinstalling as recommended on the boards. Any thoughts? Not sure exactly where/how to upload the downloaded simple:press full theme.  Have database backup up to last Wednesday and everything was working well then, crash on Friday.  Database is for FULL site.  Do not know how to upload database for simple press if needed.  Thoughts?  Thank you!

"Downgrade Warning
It appears you are attempting to downgrade your Simple:Press Version. The Build or Version number in the sp-control.php file is lower than the currently installed version in the database.
You must restore your database to this earlier version before you can continue. You cannot simply downgrade Simple:Press files as the database has been upgraded beyond the version you are attempting to downgrade to and may cause irreparable damage to the database."

Hey stsw,

Simple:Press doesn't have it's own database, it's all part of your sites database so if the SP tables have been upgraded with a current version (as you said, up to last Friday they will have been), using an older version of the core plugin (as you said, restored from April) is not possible.

You should be fine to manually download the latest version of the core plugin and use that instead of the restored version. All the information will be stored within the database (which clearly is still in tact - hence the message!) so it should be OK to remove the original plugin folder and replace with the new version via FTP.
