No - initially you need to manually upload them via ftp. Once in place the wp updater will work for future version releases.
By default, Sp plugins go into the folder /wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins.
The blog linking plugin - when unzipped - will give you the code in a folder called 'blog-linking'. copy that folder into the one above and go to the Sp plugins page and activate.

Yes, when a user clicks onto a blog on the home page or side bar, they are still directed to the blog page. I thought that by selecting link to topic (in spf) it would open in spf only. Also, posts made in the blog pages are not being duplicated into the forums, however posts in the forums are being duplicated into the blog page which is odd.
I wanted the blogs to open into the forum so all replies are in 1 place - the forum topic.
For example if you go to http://www.amoauto.com on the home page are some blog posts. Click 1 and see what I mean.
Thanks.
sorry, not following or perhaps you are misunderstanding something...
why would those links on the main page take you to the forum??? they are put there by your wp theme...
are you thinking canonical url??? that has nothing to do with the urls for the wp post... the canonical url is a meta tag in the page html head tag... it tells search engines where the real url you want to link to the page is... and if I visit one of them, say the open letter one, and view the page source, you will see
<link rel="canonical" href="http://amoauto.com/forum/club-house/an-open-letter-to-drivers-motorists-on-the-public-roads1/" />
which is exactly what canonical urls do... but it doesnt change the page url output by your wp theme...
