I would just like to reinforce what Ike has said there. The Simple:Press user mode of 'Moderator' has absolutely no bearing on what emails they might be sent pertaining to non-forum WordPress functions. You need to sort that out elsewhere on your WP site - probably through their WP role.

By the way and just to make sure I understand the digest correctly :
- Digest email is an option for member to replace the instant notification, it's one or the other
- It is not made for moderators, to receive all posts of the day in a general single email in place of the kind of 40 (it's getting worth as the forum grows) notifications they all receive every day
- Their is no option for moderators to turn of notification themselves if you don't want to let them access de backend
Also I realize that I face problems because I'd like to force moderators to have those 40 notifications emails by default, will having an option in the frontend to turn it off.
And also because when you save the forum subscription settings on my forum, you just get a XNULL message, this panel doesn't work. So I was looking for an "activated by default" alternative.
I'll wait for the new responsive theme that I guess you are testing here in beta. See if it solves part of my problem (profile tabs).
Thanks,
Thibaud
If you enable digests it's up to users to decide if they want immediate notification or digests... The select in their profile.. The is an admin option to force digests on all but it's not the default..
Subscriptions, including digests, are designed for users... The Admin notifications are designed for admins and mods but you are correct it's individual emails only.. Since subscriptions usage is controlled by permission, you could of course not allow users to use and limit it to admins and mods...
Correct, only place for mods to change notification settings is in wp admin... But this does not give them any other access to wp admin pages they wouldn't have access too... Their wp capabilities still control access...
Sorry, not sure what you mean by xnull message...

Thank you for clarifying,
I don't want to waste your time and will wait for the release of the new theme that look awesome. And see if it fix the problem on the profile.
re-reading the whole thread, dont really see any discussion on a profile issue... highly unlikely that reboot theme will have any impact...
so dont know what xnull message even implies...
