My client posed the following question:
"Some posters are a pain in the neck, and some people simply won't want to see any posts from them. Is there a way that a member can select an option as not see another members posts?"
We do not want to ban them since they are paying members. I have seen other forums with this feature.
Am I overlooking this feature or will a plugin be created at a later time?
Thanks.
glad we could help. thanks for the update.

Unfortunately, I applauded prematurely.
The function works for the installing administrator, but none of the users have access to the "Buddies and Adversaries" tab, nor moderators or later assigned administrators. The tab is simply not displayed. I have looked through all the configurations, and do not find a setting for adjusting this feature as on or off.
Fairly pressing need, to have this working for members.
We are using Simple:Press with the Magic Members system, as the only forum compatible. Everything (Simple:Press, Magic Members and Wordpress) are all updated to the latest releases.
Thanks.
Just looking at this logically, you only get the buddies and adversaries tab by enabling the private messaging plugin, and you can only use the private messaging plugin if you have permission. As admin you will have, but can you just check to make sure the users in question have permission?
no worries... glad we could help...

Ahhhh... seems to always be something. Some users are noting an error in the system related to this feature, and here is an explanation:
"Here’s something a I noticed that I think may be a side effect of the “ignore user” option: I’ve discovered threads where the thread is shown as having (say) 4 pages, but if I try to access page 4 (or a new post that appears on page 4 via the “go to last post” arrow next to the thread under “unread and recently updated topics” I get an error message: “Access denied – you do not have permission to view this page.”
I don’t know for sure, of course, but I suspect what might be going on is that there are 4 pages of that topic over all, but (for me) only three pages worth after hiding posts from an ignored user. So trying to go to page four (or post #whatever on page 4) breaks the system.
This might be an unavoidable side effect of the “ignore user” feature but I thought I’d at least mention it in case it was confusing other people the way it was confusing me."
I too have noted at times, click backs will result in a white screen or page failure. I assume the above users issue could also be related to posts that have not yet been released by the moderator, where access to the next page of threads expects accessible content, but results in no content because they are not released by the moderator, thus the error?
Thanks.
on travel and dont remember if the ignored posts are done pre query or post query... if pre query, there should be no paging issues... if post query, then depending on the number of hidden posts, I guess this could happen... we will have to research it...
if post query, it would be problematic to fix - unless we can shift it to prequery...
so research needed...
not sure what you mean by click backs??? white screen? do you mean the browser back button? this would be browser issue.. but not sure you mean the back button... please clarify...
