so look in your db… the sfforums table… is there a keywords column? there should be as it was added some time ago…
if not, you will need to manually enter it… see the wp-content/sp-startup/install/sp-install.php for the structure of the column… if you cant find it, let us know and we can post it here…
not sure how you would have missed that update though…
yes, you need to add that column with those characteristics to your sfforums table…
hopefully there are not any other db schema updates missing from upgrades…

Now I get another error

I am not sure what version is on the server or what server setup they have but I can contact them tomorrow to get that info. I am with a really old hosting company that has very low time to first byte but they also have the oldest GUI. They do seem to keep up with all the updates. I would like to move to a new host but have very bad luck every time I try a new hosting company.
So I had an update on the post_rating. I update and the whole plugin is all messed up again. Here is what I get at the top of the plugin GUI:

I can’t get to my error log anymore and now the whole page on wordpress has been wiped out. I think it would be easier if we tried to save the data and start with a fresh install.
While I wont deny the possibility that you have code issues – maybe a download corruption or something – and we used to get a large number of those from users who used FileZilla to ftp update code – your issues are much more likely to be in the data and re-installing the code is not going to change that.
In particular – if the sfmembers table was in need of repair when the last update was applied then that could well be the cause of other data corruptions. It might be that the only recourse is to manually correct data issues when and as they arise.
Can you tell me what version of everything you are using – WordPress in particular and, in case I missed it earlier, the previous version of SP you were using prior to the last upgrade attempt?
Also – is your server a Unix box or MS IIS?
I am on a VM server with bluegenesis so I looked my plan up to find it says both are supported so I am guessing they choose which server they want to put you on in the back end. I will have to call them for that.
I am on the latest version of wordpress and just upgraded during the same time all this happened. I upgraded from the previous version because I am very good with keeping up with updates. The same goes with your SP plugin. The last time I updated that was in the first week of June I believe. I could have missed one update in between because I was not around for a month. I checked my logs and they don’t go back far enough that I can find the versions I upgraded from and too.
For the FTP client. What is a good one that will not give me transfer problems. I do notice 1 – 3 failed transfers every other time I move files around.
To fix the problem now to get us back to a semi good config I am going to roll my server back 1 day. I think I need to update your plugin “post_rating” when all plugins in my site are deactivated because I think this might have something to do with it.

This is what I got while repairing the table after the keywords column was entered.
I checked the forum and the framework is up but all the forum groups are gone again. I checked the error log and there are no errors. At least the framework is up again.
I am actually unfamiliar with those messages. But if you have your form admin up can you look in toolbox > environment at the server info?

Does ‘Better WP Security’ have any mySQL or AJAX bars that it can impose? I know some of it’s features can upset other plugins and cause chaos. Also worth asking if your site has Mod Security imposed on it which can also sometimes kill some Ajax http requests.
Yes I had a few setting that might have blocked the update and re-install process. I deactivated it yesterday and gave it a good day to run auto debugs but nothing.. I would like to try a fresh install one more time with my security plugin deactivated. My normal routine for installing updates is deactivating all plugins during the process. This time I had so much going on in my head that I kept the security plugin activated which blocks write access to the wp framework. I will let you know what happens.
Ok the outcome was a page full of errors. I will post them at the end. I noticed your plugin and a second update through the GUI this time when installing. Will it help if I click uninstall through the GUI and re install from scratch? I know I asked this before but that was when we did not have the security program blocking it.

Also all plugins are deactivated right now so we can figure this out. I have Dog Grooming on page one of SERPS and it is slowly slipping to page 2. This is mainly because a lot of the SEO power is in your plugin which is giving all the engines a 404.
One other thing I did not mention is that I was attacked by that WP exploit 2 months ago and had to use my primary backups to get rid of the malware. Then as you see WP has a new update every other week now which I have been on top of. So maybe this info might help a little.
