Support Forum
Hi,
I just upgraded to 5.1 and I seem to have lost rich text editing. I just reinstalled TinyMCE but that didn't help....
I've configured the Global Settings to allow rich text editing, but instead of a full text box with the TinyMCE icons on top, I know get a half-width both with no other options when I go to edit or add new posts.
Are there settings somewhere else I am missing?
Dan, so you grabbed the tinymce plugin for sp? and activated it on the sp plugins page? on forum - components - editor, did you also select it as the default?
If yes to all that, on your SP profile page, profile - options - posting options, what do you have selected for you editor?
If all that is right, please give us a link so we can check for any js conflicts...

Hi,
Yes, uploaded, activated, and both the global options and my profile options are set to use the rich editor. This is for http://dankleiman.com.
Thanks,
Dan
well you have an interesting set of script libraries there - some of which do not necessarily like each other but I don't see any obvious red flags.
To enable me to look closer I really need to be able to load the forum - preferably as a user who can post. This is not, of course, possible at the moment.
Can you set us up with a temporary user account so we can take a look for you? Please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.

Sorry about that. We had one or two people whose editor settings were not upgraded properly - one of those oddball glitches that happened so rarely it was hard to pinpoint the cause.
Can you do the following please: Go to the SP plugins admin panel - locate the TinyMCE Editor plugin and click on uninstall (NOT deactivate). After the panel has all reloaded then install it again. Check the settings. Hopefully they should be restored.

That's a bit worrying. They should be reset by that. Can I just check that you are using the most up to date versions of both SP and the editor plugin? If not - could you update them and try that again.
If you ARE up to date with both then yes - you could re-enter the details - I am just a bit concerned...
