coding?  no coding needed...  sorry, update for what?

I was replying to your question about which editor we used here...  Its an option in the editor settings to make it look like here - a skin setting...  so suggested you go to the forum - components - tinymce editor admin panel and change the skin to cirkuit if you wanted it to look like here...

OK thanks I will have another look at what you are saying - how am I going to resolve the TinyMce part as I have had to uninstall it

using ftp or your server control panel (ie cpanel) filemanager, go to wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins and change the directory name from tinymce-richtext1 to tinymce-richtext

Thanks again - that has resolved the issue with the plugin falling over - easy when you know how :) BUT when it is activated, cannot press the cancel button again and editing is an issue, plus I am not getting the editor come up so I have had to deactivate it. Is there another fix coming for this?

there is no fix because currently there is no known issues with it...  tens of thousands of folks are using it...

you may have a javascript conflict on your site...  do you have a link to your site?

really?  still loading the other editor:

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://www.personaldevelopmentbureau.com/forum/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/forum/editor/sp-text-editor.js?ver=3.5'></script>

have you made it the default editor on forum - options - global settings?

I didnt know it had  to be enabled there too - it was set to plain text editor - I have just changed it. Will that resolve issues with no being able to press Cancel button etc?

dont know... guests cannot see posts or make posts on your site, so cannot look at it...

but I dont see any obvious conflicts... have you tried it? clear your browser cache...  and perhaps go to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and clear the js and css combined caches...
