dont know... guests cannot see posts or make posts on your site, so cannot look at it...

but I dont see any obvious conflicts... have you tried it? clear your browser cache...  and perhaps go to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and clear the js and css combined caches...

There still seems to be an issue - Skin to use is set to cirkuit, variant to use is blank. Got to pick someone up from station but will try in about 30 minutes - thanks

Hi - have tried clearing both caches but not made any difference and tried re-running in browser and also in incognito mode in Chrome just in case. This option is witched om is that correct "Use the integrated editor options toolbar"

When trying to save - it says "Unable to save - No topic post has been entered and post cannot be saved" but I cannot enter text in a post although it allows me to save tittle.

Remember I had to recover from a backup this morning - is it possible other parts are out of sync? If it helps I am happy to give admin access

I apprecaite you may be trying to get away for Christmas so if that is the case I can wait a bit as I will just switch this editor off

yeah, I am heading out in couple minutes...  but if you want to get us an wp admin account with sp admin caps, that would help...  pm them to yellow swordfish and mr papa with a link to this topic...

real quick, is this wp 3.5?

Rupert, I think I have narrowed down the issue on your site...  I believe the problem is coming from your flex squeeze wp theme...  The theme is adding a bunch of buttons and features to the wp tinymce editor...  this appears to be failing when the wp tinymce editor is used on the front end... perhaps the theme is only loading some needed code on admin pages...  but its a bad assumption that the editor would only be used in the admin as WP designed it to be reusable anywhere - as simple press does on the front end...

looking through the options, I dont see any way within the theme to disable the loading of this extra tinymce stuff...  might be worth asking the author...

if you wanted to run a quick test to verify this, you could temp switch the wp theme to the wp default (twenty ten, twenty eleven or twenty twelve) and see if the tinymce editor on the front end works...  I did not do this because I was unsure of good time to try it...

Thanks very much for your very detailed response. I am reluctant to do any testing tonight as we are leaving early tomorrow for a four day break so want to keep status quo until I have more time on my return. I have however emailed the author of the theme. I have found them very good some I am hoping for a reasonable response

I will revert next week - in the meantime can I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy new yearsmile

same to you!

we will be here when you return to pick this back up...  would be interested in what the author says..  I dont have explicit prove that is the problem - I think the wp default theme test would confirm...  he may also shed light on if he thinks it would work in the front end...

something else for you to think about... do you really want those extra tinymce icons available for users on the front end in forum posts?  without some sort of controls or api from that plugin to disable, they would be there....
