thanks much
how do i delete the no access setting …
i just tried to log into forum as
mariah_hinds@yahoo.com
justice4all
and still not getting access …
I have just had a double check and the forum ‘Healing Problem Solving Class’ still has the permission of Members – No Access.
Sorry, I didn’t change it – I would normally only advise not make any changes.. You would just need to go to Forum > Forums > Manage Groups and Forums > find the forum in question, click ‘Forum Permissions’ on the right of the group you want (in this case ‘Members’) and edit the set enabling ‘Standard Access’
if you want the members to have no access (truly no access vice the no access permission set), the just delete the usergroup/permission set from the forum (on the panel Ike mentioned)… if a user has no membership (does not belong to a usergroup assigned to the forum with a permission set), they will no have any access on the forum…
i went into the area suggested .. deleted the no access ones while leaving the groups that were suppose to have access to the heeling PS forum .. they are marked with std access …
the person is still locked out :<(
this person is getting really upset and i am getting frustrated …
how do i fix this so she has access?
i have heeling ps forum set for 4 groups to have standard access ..
member in questions has membership access but is still locked out :<(
this has also appeared ..

no idea what or where this came from …
Just looking at the permissions issue first, have just taken another look and I can see a few things have changed.
In the first screenshot, it shows that Mariah has a membership to ‘Members’ group and only members group…
In the second screenshot, it shows the forum in question doesn’t allow people to view from the ‘Members’ group. Mariah would need to belong to one of the above groups in order to see this forum, or the members group needs to be added to the permissions with ‘standard access’ (the problem before was that the members group had no access)
she should belong to the heeling PS group … see on picture is shows she has posted on that forum ..
for some reason it has kicked her out???
i have forums set up in groups … giving whatever groups access to the forums that relates to them ..
guests and members (sort of speak) do not have access … so i deleted since they didn’t have access anyway .. if you look at the other forums you will see the same ..
this is all so confusing :<(
i just need to know how to get this fixed …
Sure, and that is understandable. To resolve, like I said in the previous posts – just re-add her to the correct usergroup, simple as that!
And although I can’t explain why it happened, do let us know if it happens again..
it sounds so easy but how???
i have searched all the settings and find no way to add her back …
the edit membership i can’t find anymore .. it is gone???
maybe this has something to do with it??

Sorry, I figured you already knew how to do this – probably would have saved a few posts!
OK so firstly, again I’m not sure how there are no SP admins defined, but you can add admins by going to forum > admins > manage admins. Since you are a WP admin you will have SP admin capability until admins are defined here so it wont restrict usability. See the box at the bottom ‘Add New Admins’.
Then you want to add the user to the correct usergroups in forum > usergroups > manage usergroups. Find the usergroup you want to add her to, and click ‘Add New’. Then it’s just a case of finding her in the list. Should be good from there..
yippee …
happy happy dance …
she has access :>)
i am going to go have a really large drink now :>))))))
