No problem, that's definitely a step in the right direction!

It looks like your WordPress theme is taking over a few styles specifically .type-page img in 'style.css'. This is forcing all kinds of horrible rules on images from the forum such as padding, background colour etc..

If you know how to use the web inspector, inspect an icon and disable all the rules coming from .type-page img, and everything looks fine again.

What I can't tell you however, is why these rules are coming into effect on the forum.

Yes you can leave the combined caching on.
