I tried #6, yes. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that. Nothing showed up on the screen when I enabled those lines. In fact, the instructions for their use is so vague that I wasn't even sure where to look for error messages, because all it says is "on the screen". I looked everywhere and didn't see any error messages.

Attached is a screenshot of my php error log, during the time I activated the plugin. I don't understand this stuff, so if you do please enlighten me.

Also, what I mean by "gone" is just that. There's white space where everything should be. Actually no, there's not, I'm getting "NO DATA RECEIVED" in chrome with the error message err_empty _response now.

Well, back to delete the plugin again Capture.PNGImage Enlargerso I can go to my site. :(

You need to talk to your host support. The core dump following segmentation errors is a concern as is the inability to load some scripts. Send them that image.

....I am my own host. :/

I'm gonna see what I can find on Google. I really like Simple:Press and the buddypress plugin does exactly what I need it to do. I just need it to work! :)

I FINALLY found the solution for this issue - in order for your forum Buddypress plugin to work properly ALL parts of the wordpress plugin Buddypress have to be ENABLED. There were 3 features I never intended to use that when enabled fixed everything. I'm happy once again.

Well that is good news. But... can you tell us whet these three features are so we can run some tests here? It would be useful information....thanks

well, basically what happened was this:

I set up a WAMP server on my windows box, installed my DB backup, fresh copy of wordpress along with my plugins including simplepress. When I installed the buddypress plugin, it threw a php error at me - as I mentioned before I'm not very savvy with PHP but I was able to determine that it was caused by not having buddypress notifications enabled. So I suppose it probably could be just that option, but the three I did not have enabled when your plugin wasn't working were notifications, private messaging, user groups. I enabled them all. Admittedly I didn't really test this, but when I turned them all on voila, all was working.

It's interesting to note that I did not get any errors when running wordpress on my ubuntu box - just that blank admin panel and toolbar.

Btw - this is slightly off topic to this thread, but I noticed that when WPMU DEV dashboard plugin is activated, your simplepress admin menu icons don't load, just square boxes. Looks bad and the menus get all wonky. Just so you know.

I will let Steve review the BuddyPress side of your post.

When it comes to the admin menu which icons do you mean and why is this not a problem with this WPMU DEV plugin (which I am unfamiliar with)? Actually I suspect anything with 'WPMU' in the title to be somewhat out of date as 'mu' has been known as 'multi-site' fpr quite a vew versions now.

well, I can tell you that we do not do anything with bp usergroups or private messaging...  so that would seem to limit it to the notifications module being off...  which might make sense since that is one module I would have had on since we were interfacing with it...

will do some testing if that one is off...
