Cool, very happy to hear you guys are going to look in to that buddypress plugin issue. I'm glad I could help in the way I did.

Swordfish - WPMU DEV is a relatively well known premium theme/plugin provider. http://wpmudev.org Anyway, you know how when you go to the backend in wordpress, click on forums and then go to the forum admin page? Where all the menus are that lets one administer the forums? Each of the menu categories like forums, profiles, administrators, etc.... are all supposed to have icons, yes? In fact (because I have wpmudev disabled currently) I can see them fine, they're a flat gray color. Well when I enabled the wpmudev dashboard, those icons are replaced by empty blue rectangles. In other words, your icons don't load. It looks awful, to the point where I've disabled the wpmudev dashboard plugin completely to avoid this. I hope this description helps you to better understand what I'm experiencing. Since you don't even know what wpmudev is, I'm assuming this'll probably never get fixed, especially since it affects very few of your customers. I just wanted to let you know that there was an issue.

I saw this morning that Steve had opened a ticket on the BuddyPress issue and it will get addressed.

So - let's just talk admin menu icons.

With the release of WordPress 3.8.0, the WP team introduced a whole new method and UI for the admin menus within WP. This included a change to their icons as well as the methods used to load and display those icons. We followed suit with out main admin menu and in our 5.4.1 release - coinciding near enough with WP 3.8.1, we extended that approach to our accordion menu.

The point I was trying to make was to ask whether this WPMU plugin had recently been updated and suggesting that if it still used the moniker 'MU' then perhaps it had not simply because the term 'mu' had not been used for a long time.

To put it simply - SP is as up to date with using the technology and options offered by WP as it can be.

we are aware of wpmudev, just not all their plugins... sounds like you are having issue with specific one - we know many of theirs to work fine...  Since wp 3.8 just completely changed how admin icons are added, I am with Andy and ask specifically if that plugin had an update for wp 3.8 to be compatible...

a ticket is open for investigation of notifications disabled having any impact...  not know to be a problem yet, but not know to be good either... ;) on business travel this week so, will be the weekend before I can look into further...
