well the errors are gone now... so not likely related... and oddly, I can see in the header traffic that wp is communicating with youtube for embedding the video... and the response is good...

but something is keeping it from showing up...

still wondering about the wp theme...  but mainly cause of some unknown js and the usage of its own jquery and jquery ui vs the ones that come with wp... 

No, the wp theme has nothing to do with oembeds (putting a url and having it embeded automatically) - or at least shouldnt... its all wp with no theme interaction needed...  if its trying to do something, it might very well be breaking the default, built in wp functionality for embeds...

I wish I could promise you wouldnt have to configure the theme if you switch, but I have no idea how its coded...  in theory switching between themes is painless but some have proven to not like that due to the way they were coded...

how many theme options did you have to configure when you set it up?

understand...  but want to be clear...   pasting a video url into a wp blog post and having it show up as an embedded video is built into wp core... the theme does not need to do anything...  so yeah, if its introducing itself into that process, it might be mucking up the works...

wonder why its getting involved? maybe it was from before wp supported embeds? but that has been quite some time...

so if it is mucking with it... then there might be a couple more options we can try when 5.1 releases...  and that will be Thursday, so not too far off - day and a half...

np. glad to help... just want to solve it...  will think on it and see what Andy says... but leaning towards the theme based on info... Thursday release may help...
