Hello,

After upgrading some plugins, I have lost my forum theme CSS style.

I was running Better WordPress Minify so decided to remove this plugin assuming it was the cause but still the forum appear un-styled even  I change theme.

Link here:

Thanks for your help

The message I am getting back from the url to the forum theme is that it doesn't not exist. wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/default/styles/

Does it exist still? is it readable? Do your storage location (admin > Integration) show it as being readable?

a lot going on there...

first, your wp theme or another wp plugin is doing it wrong... and loading both jquery and jquery ui from off site instead of using the ones that come with wp... recipe for problems...  see:

http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

as to the css, your site is not loading any of the sp css...  its loading all the js fine, but none of the css - should be a bunch of files...

so it seems something is interfering with the loading...  what did you update?

Hello both,

I forgot to subscribe to this topic...sorry for the late reply.

Right, the issue is still present, I had to de-activate the default theme that I was using and forced to use the CSS one and for now is back to normal.

I have deleted the default theme folder and re installed with no results, still broken.

I was updating 2 plugins, Pods CMS and I don't remember other but while I was doing this job I had an error message to warn that the 2 plugins were not successfully installed because of a folder reading error (I made all wp-content folders CHMOD 777.

After few attempts I was able to install the updates, but after that discovered that my website and the SP themes CSS styles were broken.

I decided to remove better WordPress Minify plugin de-activated and re-activated Quick Cache (that anyway don't cache forum pages) and now is working again but without my favourite default theme.

Thanks for any help, time to go to sleep for me...

Regards

setting wp-content and folders to 0777 is not good for security...  and may actually stop some stuff from working (ie some ajax type requests)...

and this theme is still loading jquery and jquery ui wrong... hopefully you dont run into some js conflicts - because I am worried about that...

Is there any chance someone in this forum can help on fixing my issue?

I can provide user and password to access the WP backend.

Thanks

We can take a look but if you have a server permission problem then we wont be able to fix that.

Please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.

did you ever correct the 0777 permissions?

and worth checking to see if it still occurs with other wp plugins deactivated...  wondering if conflict...

No - I don't think that has anything to do with permissions. Checking that other plugins are not interfering is not a bad idea - especially if you have any active to do with site security.

Also - as another next step - perhaps asking your host if they have mod_security imposed on your site. If this behaviour only recently started and they do have it turned on you could ask if it has been changed or if any other server side components have been changed or updated.
