yes, I see the same issue on IE 8...  piece of shit!!!!!!!!!!!

sure it has something to do with cascading font size % where IE continues to blatantly disregard standards...

will have to research later this weekend...

Well sort of. It was my fault (a badly closed 'span') but most browsers, as we see, cope well with that sort of error correction (rightly or wrongly) so while you might say hats off to IE for showing up the error you could also say it is unhelpful to us poor developers who are famous for their typos.
