Support Forum
Well that is most helpful isn't it...
Let's try a really quick and simple test if you would.
Go to the forum admin > themes section and click on the theme editor. Does anything at all appear in the edit window or in the list down the right hand side of the screen?

Well that is useful in that it proves the main file is there.
Can I suggest that as a stop gap you might want to consider downloading and install our 'CSS-only' theme and at least you will have a working forum even if it does not look quote so good. (https://simple-press.com/downl.....nly-theme/)
The only other possibility I can think of is that when they cleaned up your site they prevented our 'php' file from emulating a 'css' file. This would be a pretty rare thing to do but I guess it is possible. You may want to ask them if this might be the case. Actually trying to throw morel light on their comment in reply to the first question would, perhaps, be useful. Certainly more customer friendly!
You can check something else perhaps. If you could go to the forum admin - toolbox - error log and clear any errors that are shown (button at the bottom of any list). Then run the forum page and go back to the error log to see if anything is reported. If anything is amiss it may be that it will be in the server error log but we can check this one first.

I first ran the error test and produced this:
file: /simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-auths.php
line: 29
function: sp_get_auth
Notice | Undefined index: view_own_admin_posts
Also got this:
file: /simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-auths.php
line: 35
function: sp_get_auth
Notice | Undefined index: view_own_admin_posts
FYI I just updated to WP 4.4
Sadly those notices are innocent!
Unless anyone else has any ideas I really do urge you to go back to your hosting support and (a) ask them what they meant by their previous reply and (b) if they have in any way stopped php files from being run as css emulation files (and of they have can they allow it in the theme folder).

I should add that we could probably (i am unsure of the effort involved) generate a separate CSS file but the bottom line is that it would be more useful for your system to behave properly.
To save me going back a page is this a standard theme or has it been customised at all?

Here's what they said...
Have you tried re-uploading the plugin to make sure that all the necessary files are there? I haven't been able to find any permissions that are amiss, and the plugin should function on our server with no problems. From what I have read in this ticket so far, and what I have been able to see, it is possible there is a file that is missing and was removed because of it's malicious content, or that had some key code removed for a similar reason.
