I like the idea of Tapas Talk... a forum for discussing Tapas... makes me hungry just thinking about it!

on our forum we get daily requests for tapatalk..
it seems to me that tapatalk are the ones that need to make this happen.. i dont know if i am understanding it correctly but is an app.. and the app needs to play nice with various forum types.. and right now SimplePress is not one of them .. for whatever reason..
I get the impression that SimplePress is, if not the leader in WP forum aplications, its gotta be a contender? I am not sure what it would take.. but man i would love to be able to tell our users that we are gonna be getting it..

one of these days, we really will take a look and see what this tapatalk is about (ha! got it right that time!)... but I would agree with Daniel, its probably got to start with them... and we might need to do something to support - but highly doubt anything we can make happen on our own...
has anyone ever asked them or posted there about support?

yeah.. there is a growing thread on their site about supporting simplepress.. its been a while since an admin from tapatalk has posted.. and when they did they said no plans to support it as of yet... but there have been a number of people asking for them to reconsider..
maybe if you guys got in touch with them and started a conversation.. that might help things along.. my users tell me that if we had tapatalk our forum user base would grow rapidly and i tend to think they are right.

let me also just add in our hobby, Remote Controlled Helicopters.. most everyone uses mobile devices.. and alot of them, more than i even would have guessed, access information while they are out at the field enjoying their models.. an issue arises and they begin to search the 3 or 4 forums in our hobby that have good information for troubleshooting..
we are not only getting a LOT of tapatalk requests.. but our users are chomping for us to get a mobile version site as well..

A mobile ready theme for simple press is something that we are hard at work... With 5.2.2 released it is now the primary focus of our activities... a majority of the forum pages now look wonderful on mobile devices... we have a few more to go, then have to make sure all the plugins are handling that correctly... and then finally we will need to make some overlays for the singular mobile theme we are developing...
timeframe? hard to say but I would certainly think its in the 1st quarter... depends on how much we get sidetracked by other issues...

That is Fantastic news.. i dont think its necessary for tapatalk to be involved. the idea being mobile accessibility. If you guys can get that worked out.. that would be fantastic..
if you need beta testers id gladly offer up our forum for that.. let me know
