mobile theme is chugging along nicely...   just like your wp site, you have to have an sp theme that is responsive...   so that is what we are creating... a mobile responsive sp theme...   some new functionality is needed in core to support this...  it wont magically make your current sp theme be responsive.. but it will provide a blueprint for one to customize their own responsive sp theme if needed..

as to tapa, it really has to start with them...  we will help where we can and its needed, but first step is them...  they have recently stated they intend to begin offering SP support...  not sure what has happened since then...

In one word - nothing .

I'm building a site for a very large community would love to use SP (I still use it on My own site) but they require Tapatalk so going to have to use a Tapatalk supported forum

Tapatalk has a WordPress ready plug-in now. I haven't been able to get it to work yet but will let you all know as soon as I do.

I'm not sure yet if it will support the forum or not.

My guess - and it is just a guess - is that it is aimed at bbPress.

I had to remove the responsiveness feature on my WP site because of issues with menu customization and chat bar features.

In order to use a responsiveness feature, all plugins and 3rd party products would have to also resize which i found to be a pain in the butt.

Now, most smart phones come with a browser that displays regular wep pages anyways.

yes, correct... in order for sp to be responsive, the underlying wp site must also be since we are but a plugin/child to it...
