Support Forum
Hi,
So where is development status on these plugins currently at?
My organisation is very interested in trying out these plugins. It have fallen upon me to feel out the terrain. I'm not a developer though and would really appreciate some help in layman terms on how these 3 plugins work together and can be implemented.
We have a site where we post news and articles which people can comment on.
We also have a forum where we would like people to discuss the same news and articles.
It would be fantastic if someone comments on the news/article and the same comment shows up in the forum under the correct thread (automated thread or not) and vice versa.
What do we need to implement this/your solution?
Many thanks in advance! (English isn't my first language so apologies if something is odd grammatically)
You do not actually need either of the plugins listed in the title of this topic to do what you want to do. All you need is our Blog Post Linking plugin for this. This is what we use here on our 'Latest News and Developments' forum.
The 'Commenter' plugin that we use on our own blog posts is still very much a work in progress but is not actually necessary for what you want.

Threading was released a few weeks back: https://simple-press.com/downl.....threading/
The Blog Comments plugin is not currently available.

Hi again,
We've implemented your fantastic Blog Post Linking-plugin on out site and we are so incredibly pleased with it.
I might not have been explicit enough in my last request, but we also would like to try your Blog Commenter-plugin.
We know it is in beta, we also read that you haven't had any problems with it so far, has there been any trouble with it recently or is there a particular reason why it's still in beta?
We really would like to try it and would be glad to help out by providing feedback etc.
If you could email me a link or info we would really appreciate it immensely.
Many thanks in advance!

"Tell you what though – we would be happy to let you have a copy of the Commenter plugin which would be a beta and thus not necessarily as bug-free as we can make it – but working as well as it is working on our blog posts here. (We have not been informed or – nor have seen any problems)."
Actually by 'not available' I really meant we probably will not be progressing it. If we did give you a copy it would be without support and probably without any future updates.
But - we will talk it over here - that's a promise.

If you would like an unsupported copy of the plugin then I can send it to you. Let me know.
There are only templates available for the Unified, Reboot and Barebones themes however. To use it - it is also necessary to turn off comments in the blog posts and to ensure that the WP themes comment form is not displayed.
If you want to go ahead I can zip it up and send it using the email address you have used here.

I have threading on my forums, yet, when an old topic gets a threaded post, it will appear on the main index as the newest updated thread, but will not appear on the top of the forum index.
Here are screen shots:
