Lots of javascript on the forum though. My site itself uses about 70KB of JS, the forum 306KB... Is there any way to reduce the use of JS?

no, not really...  you can turn off the js checkboxes (user_switches.php)...  we may add a few more options like that in 4.1...  also, future releases will have our js packed which it currently is not...

I just installed Simple:Press on my site at http://webstylee.com and I must say, not only was it painless, it was pure joy. This is one awesome piece of software.

On my site, I offer themes for the big 3 CMS's, Wordpress being one of them. I must say, it was a special joy that the software I used to develop the themes actually took into account the possible need of making page templates with/without sidebars. Basically, the CSS includes the entries necessary to account for the width adjustments. Given the complexity of the tutorial on this site regarding making separate page templates, it was nice to see.

Anyway, as I stated in a post on the WordpressMU section here also, I used WordpressMU and everything ran just peachy. I'll have to take a look into developing themes for this plugin.

Yup indeedy,
DavidM

Hello Everyone -

I actually spent most of my night last night building an online insurance forum to better help our visitors discuss the latest health care & health insurance news. You can visit my site and check out my forum RxHealthQuotes.com

I wanted to thank the designers of Simple:Press, I found your software very easy to use and love the options you give your users. I did have one problem that I am still trying to figure out (hope someone can help) my 7 & 8 file did not load correctly. I need to somehow get my Avatar and smiley's working but unsure how to do this.

Again, Thank you very much!

7 and 8 file???

check you online help (in your spf admin area) for info on manually setting up the avatar and smiley folders if they did not set up during the install (many hosts permissions give problems).
