sorry, still confused... why would we use them? if you changed strings, then they are your changes... we are not necessarily going to change ours...

we create a .po file of our basic english strings... then on glotpress, if you want Russian (or other langues), folks enter the translations... when approved, you would download a .mo file to use the translation on your site... if you are updating the Russian (or other) translations, then they should be entered into glotpress as a suggested improvement...

but I might be missing what you are trying to do...

I'll try to explain.
English and russian are bit different languages... πŸ™‚ so in those translations, that you have on your site, there are lot of mistakes, that could be found only when you see translation alive on the forum.
There are some problems for ex. with suffixes, plural forms and so on.
Then - not all plugins are translated.
So i have downloaded all po files from your translation site (plugins, themes, core translations files). Then i have translated them with programm "Poedit"... it is much more convenient, just because you can upload translation on the site and see how it looks like. And then fix what you need and upload again. And the program is more comfortable, than the translation site - you can use dictionaries there for example...Β  Of course I have not changed basic strings. I have only translated them.

Finaly - I have translated .po files... but i have them on my computer. There are alot of fixes... and i don't think that i'm able to copy-paste them on the site πŸ™‚ just because it will take alot of time πŸ™‚

To show - translation for PM plugin in attachment (not cleaned yet.. just to show you, what i mean) πŸ™‚ you can compare it with english one πŸ™‚
It is not logical to copy-paste all translations to the site manualy.. so i suggest you just import russian strings to the site (when my users and I will finish with cleaning up)

well, we have one or two Russian translators working on glotpress.... we really need to make that correct... so Andy and I dont speak the language, so we have no choice but to take what people put in glotpress... how would we know whether one is better than another... if you wanted to offer to be a validator, you could work with the other one to get the right translations...

Do i have an opportunity toΒ  contact with other translators? I think it'll be more productive, if we will work together.. are they registered on this forum? Can you tell their nik names? I'll pm them

cool. that's really how it should work. we try to limit validators to max 3 per language and hope they collaborate on coming up with the best translations....

thanks!
