I did get his idea - but as I said - I'm a bit lame with css and couldn't quite get it to work. Will put your code in and give it a go.

Huge thanks!

Andy's code in post #21 was awful damn close and should have gotten you there...

add:

#spMainContainer .selectBox-dropdown {display: none !important;}

to your wp theme... its because the theme is globally applying select styles to anything it find in the pages...

Yes, Andy's code almost worked, but as I stated in post #23, though it corrected things on the forum, but it interfered with the text on the homepage in the search bar for the select dropdown box and I just notice (as I forgot about it all along) that I have another select dropdown box on my "Contact Us" page using the Fast Secure Contact Form plug in, and here it got rid of the select dropdown box and left a hyperlinked "Select" text...

Also, a little while ago WP-DB Manager did a scheduled Repair and came back with a bunch of warning errors within the plugin page for simplepress...

both mine (corrected version Andy's) only targeted the forum page... not sure how it would affect anything else...  it clearly has #spMainContainer in the rule...

did you repair your db?

I think an update from simplepress was coming through as the database was going through the repair, everything seems fine now though, and I'm still trying to tackle this issue...mama seems to have fix her issue, but her site is heavy moded and doesn't use Classipress search bar and has no other select dropdown boxes, so good for her, but doesn't help my site..

YAY!! I got it, and it worked!! Thank you, so much!! mahhh. I simply wasn't totally understanding what you meant or where to put the code at. I really appreciate yours and Andy's help with this issue. I'll update the forum at Classipress as well, so that anyone I've recommended SimplePress to will know how fix the issue. Again Thanks OXOX!

For anyone who's using Classipress theme v3.1.6 or v3.1.7 and are experiencing two select dropdown boxes on the SimplePress forum, go to style.css file and drop down a line on 168 and add/insert on line 168 the code above from Mr.Papa.
