I installed the Blog Linking plugin today. It generated some messages in the error log:

In addition, when I go in to edit a post, I can not see where the options for linking a post to a forum are. I know I'm old, but...  😉

OK That issue did the disappearing trick. Seems to be working fine however, when I link a post, some of the imaged in the post do not show up in the forum post. Also, on the original blog post I can not find where it created the "join the discussion" information on the blog post. This may be a theme issue but I do not even know where to begin to look fix it.

not sure what you are asking on last post...

lets start with your options... forum - components - blog linking...  make sure you have enabled for post/page types you want...

when creating (or editing) the post,  you should see a form like below at the bottom of the wp post editor page...

Screenshot_1.pngImage Enlarger

the link to the forum topic in the blog post, in the options, do you have it enabled to auto link?  if so, is the option set for before or after the post content?  which is where you would look...  it hooks into the standard wp hook 'the_content' to display the link...  if you theme is not using that hook (would be very abnormal), then it wouldnt show...

For testing, I have simply set it to the 'Post' type. The form shows up at the bottom of the editor page as you describe. I set the proper forum for the post to appear in and checked "update forum topic with subsequent edits"  Here are my settings for the link to forum blog post

Here is a link to the blog post I am testing with: https://thelemicknights.org/20.....-pentacle/

Also, in the forum post, images that appear in the blog post are not being transferred to the forums post. If you look at the blog post, the only image that gets transferred to the forum is the first photo that appears in the blog post.

I believe the first image only is by design though there is a ticket to see about changing that behavior...   will have to check or perhaps @yellow-swordfish will be by and know off hand since he did the initial work on the plugin...

as to the link, its actually there (its in page content)...  you just cant see it... seems to be the text is empty...  and that is because in the options you show, you have emptied out the text for displaying the link...  the default would be:   %ICON% Join the forum discussion on this post

But you need some sort of text and possible placeholders in there...

D'oh. I assumed that was used to modify an existing default. Corrected, BUT now when I attempt to save the component settings I get an error.

The box in the editor no longer shows and for some reason I can not save the component settings, when the settings screen comes back after all the settings are made and I click "Update" everything is UNchecked  *argh*

FYI, I have tried completely uninstalling the blog linking plugin and starting from scratch. No matter what I do it will not save settings and generates the errors I listed above.

Are there some database tables I should remove after uninstalling the plugin in order to have a complete uninstallation of the blog link plugin?

are you seeing those harmless notices (not errors) in the error log or on the screen???  if the latter, very bad from security point - you should not be displaying errors/warnings/notices on a production site...  the last is a warning...

that said, typically (hate saying that) none of those would case a failure or stop a page load..

is there anything more in the php error log?  or perhaps on forum - toolbox - error log?

what version of WP, simple press and the blog linking plugin are you using?   I am not able to recreate, but may have differences based on those questions...

if you uninstall the blog linking plugin, all database entries are removed...

can you also upload a screenshot of the complete blog linking components admin page?

The error shows up on the WP admin page as well as the forum error log. I am using WP 4.8.3, plugin version 1.3.5screen2.pngImage Enlarger

The screenshot of the options screen is too large, the system wont allow me to upload it, but.. it shows the same error/warning at the top of the top like the screenshot above. All of the options are blank, nothing checked... it will not accept any changes I make... after hitting update the changes I make disappear
